Family
We worship at Westside Anglican Church. It's a small, cosy church, but the Lord will do great things with this church. When revival comes, the church will need a far bigger place than the rented premises at the West Coast Recreation Centre. Blessed be the Name of the Lord. When Jenny was expecting our first child, we decided to name him Joshua. The name is very special to us -- it is the Hebrew equivalent of the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. [Joshua's Chinese name is Leong En (Áº¶÷) and Hannah's is Leong Hui (Áº»Ý). Taken together, "en hui" (¶÷»Ý) means "grace" in Chinese.] Both Joshua and Hannah are miracle children. As Alvin has diabetes, we had to seek the Lord very carefully about having children. And when He gave us not one, but two lovely children, that absolutely floored us. Joshua and Hannah are healthy in every way; they are truly beautiful children. We pray that they will remain healthy all the days of their lives and be greatly used by God for His kingdom.
Work occupies 40-odd hours of our lives a week, but it helps to pay the bills and meet our day-to-day expenses. So we can't really complain. Anyway, God constantly looks over us and takes real good care of us. Even though we wouldn't like to say that we are rich, we aren't all that poor, either. From the time we were dating, to our marriage, and to the purchase and renovation of our apartment, God has never failed to see us through.
In our free time, we involve ourselves quite heavily with health issues and fitness. As for food, we love all kinds of fruit and vegetables, except ginger, celery, and durians (... please don't ask). We also have a [im]modest collection of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, and Coca-Cola Light paraphernalia. These include numerous bottles, cans, plates, and keychains, among others. We're hoping they will fetch a tidy sum in the future ... at the moment, they don't seem to be fetching anything but a lot of dust. We're also looking around for decaffeinated Diet Coke. We saw and bought a 1.5L bottle in Melbourne, Australia, but can't seem to find this sort of thing back here in Singapore. Sigh ... |
